Wonders Unit 2, Week 3
On Monday they'll be taking their ELA word inventory assessments to show what words they can read independently. Our groups are going swimmingly. Ask your child what their group's name is, they created some great ones! Thank you so much for helping your child read with you for 20 minutes a night! :)
We are having fun with sums. Last week we tried lots of different strategies to help us come up with sums to our addends. They are learning all the best strategies for adding and subtracting. For example, doubles, near doubles, making ten, number lines, etc. I love giving them all the strategies to help them find the sum or difference of any problem!
We took our Trimester 1 writing assessment on Friday. This is a chance to write independently about a time when something special happened to them. You'll get to see what they came up with all on their own at their conference.
We're continuing our study of ecosystems. We'll be focusing on different habitat explorations. We're working on oceans, arctic and rain forests this week!
